We are deeply saddened to announce that Ralph Fontenot, 55 rubboard player, treasured friend, bandmate of 30 years and first cousin of Terrance’s died October, 15, 2014, peacefully in his sleep following a performance. The final performance of his eventful career was on a stage overlooking the beauty of the Ohio River with vintage riverboats rolling lazy down the river and a sky that lit up with fireworks during his performance. He was with his music family who he had won a GRAMMY and traveled the world with. He leaves 4 amazing sisters, Barbara, Sheila, Monica and Dawn and their 4 remarkable husbands whom Ralph was very close to, as well as countless nieces and nephew who adored him. He also leaves his former wife, Annie and step son Simon. In the supernatural world we know he has been reunited with his parents Eltra Mae and Arthur Fontenot, friends and relatives that went before him. He will be missed dearly by Terrance, all of his bandmates and especially by his roommate Danny Williams who was his roommate on the road for 23 years. He will also be missed by hundreds of promoters/presenters and friends around the world who knew and loved him as a performer, but also for his gentle demeanor and acceptance of everyone he met. Terrance, Danny and Stan contributed several songs to Ralph’s funeral service. Terrance closed with “Forever Young”.

“Forever Young” May God bless and keep you always May your wishes all come true May you always do for others And let others do for you May you build a ladder to the stars And climb on every rung May you stay forever young Forever young, forever young May you stay forever young. May you grow up to be righteous May you grow up to be true May you always know the truth And see the lights surrounding you May you always be courageous Stand upright and be strong May you stay forever young Forever young, forever young May you stay forever young.
